Hundreds of children are born into low-income families every year in this city. For many of those children the only nutritious, well-balanced meals they receive are the ones served at school. However, what happens when these children are not in school? Many of them go hungry.

Summer Lunch Services of Deonar is working to change this. Last summer we served lunch boxes to disadvantaged children at 12 sites throughout the city. Through the generous contributions of community members we were able to provide over 1,500 nutritious lunches a week. Yet, there were still children leaving hungry and under nourished. How would you feel if these were your children?
